Overview

Cratune is built so that we never see your data. This page explains what the app touches on your device, what leaves it, and where it goes. It applies to Cratune for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, and to this website.

What Cratune does not do

Cratune has no user accounts, no analytics of its own, no advertising and no servers operated by us. We do not collect, store, sell or share personal information. We cannot see your music library, your crates, your bins or your play history.

Your music library

Cratune asks for access to your Music library so it can read what is playing, show your tracks, and create the playlist folders and playlists that hold your crates and bins. Those playlists are yours and live in your own library. They stay there if you delete the app.

Microphone

If you choose a listening mode that uses the microphone, Cratune uses ShazamKit to match short audio signatures against a catalog built from your own library or against Shazam's catalog. Audio is processed for recognition only and is not recorded or stored by us. In the Music listening mode the microphone is not used at all. You can change or revoke microphone access at any time in Settings.

iCloud

iCloud Sync is optional. When you turn it on, your crates, bins and play history are stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit, so they follow you to your other devices and survive a reinstall. That data lives in your iCloud, under Apple's privacy terms. We have no access to it. Playlists sync separately through iCloud Music Library if you use it.

Purchases

Cratune Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment and the subscription. We receive no payment details and no personal account data. Purchases are subject to Apple's Privacy Policy and the App Store terms.

Apple diagnostics

Depending on your device's privacy settings, Apple may collect diagnostics such as crash logs about the apps you use and share them with developers in anonymised form. You control this in Settings under Privacy & Security.

This website

When you visit this page, our hosting provider may store server log files containing your IP address, browser type and the pages visited, for technical and security purposes. This data is not used to identify you and is deleted after a short retention period. This site sets no cookies and uses no tracking.

Your rights under the GDPR

Apart from the server log files described above, we hold no personal data about you — so in practice there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete. If you have a concern, write to us and we will answer promptly. The data controller for this service is named in the Imprint.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new date. Changes take effect when posted.
