It's the opposite of one. The chore is the prep night where you try to remember what a track did three weekends ago. Cratune asks you once, in the moment, and it's one tap. If you don't tap, nothing happens and nothing nags.
No. Bins are playlists in your own library and work with your own files. A subscription with iCloud Music Library is what carries those playlists to your other Apple devices and into DJ apps on your Mac.
Anything that reads your Apple Music library reads your crates, with no export step: djay, VirtualDJ and Mixxx among them. rekordbox and Serato on the Mac can browse your Music library as a source too. How complete that is depends on your version, so try it before you rely on it.
Mic mode doesn't search the whole world. It matches against a catalog built from your own library, which is a much smaller haystack. Anything not in your library is ignored, so the bar's background playlist never ends up in your crates. And if you're playing from the Music app, Cratune reads it directly and never listens at all.
Cratune works with music you own in your library. Streaming-only catalogs can't be tagged, because there's nothing in your library to attach the tag to.
On your device, and optionally in your own iCloud if you turn on sync. There is no Cratune account and no Cratune server. Your library never leaves Apple's ecosystem or your hands.
